The film is a part of "The Real Evidence" almanac, every film of which has an object in the centre of its plot.。玩具小猴子孙伍元自认为是美猴王，却因为拿不出金箍棒备受伙伴嘲笑。一次偶然机会，孙伍元进入到真正的西游世界，遇到已变成一只胖猴的孙悟空。孙伍元为了借出金箍棒向同伴证明自己，孙悟空为了理解唐僧所说的为师之道，两个人开启了一段不一样的师徒之旅。谁知，小猴子孙伍元却受到了牛魔王的挑唆，偷走了金箍棒，闯下了大祸……。
