这是一部讲述了三个城市中不同阶层的三个家庭中所发生的故事。围绕着“阴盛阳衰”的现实，探索男女主人公生活奥秘，诉说“一家之主”让位于现代女性后的委屈、怒愤和理解，以及由此而生出的令人啼笑皆非的种种怪异——女副市长的丈夫周正不甘“居妻篱下”愤然出走，做起了中年“单身汉”，维护了男子汉的尊严，可忍受不了分居生活的苦闷，不仅没捞回男子汉的面子，还险些被“第三者”钻了空子。几番离合之后找到了做男人的新感觉。。Birdcatcher Esmar and his wife Johanna face eviction from their farm in Gásadalur unless they have a son. Desperation sets in when Johanna gives birth to their third daughter. Pushed to the brink, Johanna is impregnated by another man, a French Captain, and gives birth to a son, known as ‘the birdcatcher’s son’. Everything seems perfect until the French Captain returns.。
