根据女作家黄蓓佳的长篇小说《婚姻流程》 改编的《心疼女人》，片如其名，旨在呼唤现代社会对女人的理解与尊重，惊醒男人对女人的体贴与关爱。编剧张永琛介绍说，电视剧与原小说相比做了不小的改动，作品以一位名叫李维华的女市长在情感、事业两方面所面临的种种遭遇和挑战为主线，着力刻画了几对都市男女在情感与道德、理想与现实之间的彷徨和反思。李维华是个严以律己、恪尽职守的官员，日子本来过得挺滋润，可就在她面临人大换届选举的时候，她的丈夫任涛却被牵涉进了一桩金融诈骗案，接着， 她又发现了丈夫的"小蜜"秦小仪的存在，而且这个秦小仪还怀孕了！另一方面，检察官林栋受命调查任涛的金融案，却受到了某服装公司老板吴经纬的作梗，此前吴经纬曾因受贿罪被林栋查出而锒铛入狱，出狱后不择手段地报复林栋成了他人生的一件大事……。A tenuously linked group of nobodies trudge through their woeful existence in dreary Winnipeg.
