大陆女孩蓝蓝，抱着满腔理想到伦敦学习音乐，但去后却感寸步难行，幸得中年留学生刘利年之助才安顿下来。赞助蓝蓝赴英留学的华侨其实是想替他儿子查理娶媳妇，但蓝蓝心高气傲加以拒绝，宁愿与刘利年和另一留学生陈大明合作做中国菜外卖维生。两颗寂寞的心在异乡煎熬，却敌不过生活的残酷。蓝蓝最后还是答应嫁给查理，却将初夜给了她所爱的刘利年。。One day, thinking that it will make your wife and friends smile, you shave off the moustache that you have had for the last ten years. Viewers who like their conclusions tidy may rebel, but those who relish outstanding performances in the service of an intriguing idea will be entertained.
