民国初年，燕南大学考古系教授的秦羽偶得藏龙墓线索，立即着手准备组建考古队伍，墨班机关术传人韩阳身手不凡，遂邀请其参加考古挖掘。为筹钱二叔治病，韩阳不顾二叔的劝阻，答应同行。与秦羽相熟的地方军阀李大勋得知此事，主动资助考古。秦羽带韩阳、女儿秦卿、学生杨沫、罗子钦和李大勋之女李冰瑶组队出发。不料，江湖传言葬龙墓有一至宝龙珠，韩羽一行被另外两个盗墓团伙跟踪。经过跋涉，秦羽凭借蛛丝马迹已经接近目的地，却发现了大量的蛇蜕……。The subject of Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub’s Der Tod des Empedokles (The Death of Empedocles, 1987) is the Greek pre-Socratic philosopher Empedocles (c. 490 BC – 430 BC), who lived in the Greek colony of Agrigentum in Sicily.
