本剧以四十年改革开放为背景，讲述了以汪文励为主的三位奋斗在祖国建设一线的职业女性的事业，婚姻和家庭故事。汪文励与蓝志兴因改革开放结缘，虽家境悬殊，依然携手步入婚姻。婚后他们共同进修，汪文励凭借才华成为企业研发骨干，并在工作中与来自香港的夏慧结为挚友。在不断晋升的过程中，她悉心培养新人汤曦，后者也在事业与家庭间稳步成长。事业路上三人各自攀登高峰，却也不断遭遇家庭与情感的考验。。After the death of their super powered villainous boss, low-level henchpeople Beatrix, Cain, and Harold are left destitute living in an abandoned grocery store.
