老张是一名基层法院的法官，为人憨厚正直，一直以来，他秉公办案，在村民的心目中有很高的威望。 这天，邻村的刘三喜带着律师找到他，要告自己的老丈人和小姨子。三年前，刘三喜的老婆产后不久便死去了，无情无义的三喜把刚出生三天的孩子丢弃在老丈人家又娶了别人。如今，他婚后一直无子又想要回孩子，被愤怒的村民打了回来。无奈之下，三喜告上法庭。 从感情上来讲，刘三喜确实不配做孩子的父亲，可是在法律上，他却拥有合法的监护权。这让法官老张伤透了脑筋。几经周折，对双方的调解还是失败了。在村里举行的公审大会上，判决刚下，不满的村民就围上来痛打刘三喜和他的律师，老张上前阻止也被牵连其中……这一集体抗法事件造成了非常恶劣的影响。在情与法面前、法与理之间，法官老张又做何选择？。Michael Keegan-Dolan is one of the most remarkable choreographers working in dance and theatre today.
